Professional Development Series with a special half-day session on “The New
PR – Leveraging Digital Influence to Drive Sales and Reputation” on
Wednesday, March 18, 2009 at GMA Network, EDSA corner Timog Avenue, Quezon
City from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.
Open to the general public, the talk will tackle how to optimize
PR--through digital means--for reputation, stakeholder and crisis
management, especially in the face of the economic slump.
Guest speaker is Douglas F. Buemi, Regional Executive Advisor for Asia
Pacific of Ogilvy Public Relations Worldwide and Chairman of Ogilvy PR
Thailand. For over three decades, Buemi has worked as journalist,
government information officer, trade association executive, marketing and
PR counselor, agency senior manager and entrepreneur.
At Ogilvy, Buemi assists regional clients develop smart, creative PR
campaigns that help build brands. He advises multi-national accounts and
supports their integrated business communication initiatives. He is on the
business development team and is also a staff teacher/coach. His clients
include Hilton Hotels, Embassy Suites, Hampton Inns, American Airlines,
American Suzuki, Del Monte Foods, Ford Motor Company, Rolex, Kellogg’s,
Unilever, The Digital Entertainment Group, Warner Home Video, Sara Lee,
Kahlua, Miller Brewing and Procter & Gamble.
Buemi is a cum laude graduate of the Ohio University School of Journalism
and an adjunct professor of journalism at the University of Southern
California Annenberg School of Communications

Speaking of which, what's the latest on Ompong? Campaigns nga ba talaga?
Ba't bumabalik sa BBDO creatives 'to? Kung tingnan ninyo yung listahan ng mga 4As, ang dami pang ahensya sa Pilipinas. At mas marami pang gutom na creatives.
Just off the top of my head, best agencies to go to if you want to improve your craft are BBDO-GO, TBWA-SMP, JWT, DM9, Y&R, O&M, Saatchi, Leo Burnett, Lowe and lately even Harrison and McCann.
At least marami rami na din. Kesa dati na mabibilang mo sa isang kamay.
Not to say the others are lesser agencies pero ito yung mga known for pushing creative work and developing talent. I hear Jimbasic is trying to shift to a more creative agency as well.
I think most of these guys are looking for good teams. I suggest you go with the agency and system that you think will bring the best out of you. Don't just go for the easy money kasi darating in yan kung magaling ka.

Ang galing ngayon......word of mouth na lang. Sa industriyang ito, hindi na reliable.

Give these youngsters 10 more years, doon natin makikita kung sino talaga ang magaling.
