Read the Adobo Magazine feature. What got me interested was what was quoted, him saying "I don't even know who these people are..." and immediately I thought oh oh. Will there be a martial rule at LOWE? O nagsimula na ba? Baka mag-impose siya ng 12am-5am curfew so probably that is a good thing. ;>

Made me also think of the incoming head of Ace Saatchi & Saatchi - Matt Seddon. A good friend texted me this about him:

"He keeps his cards close. Likes awards and profit. Pleasant but hard to read..."

I think heads will roll, I think. Scary world we now live in...

Pinoy,

You proved the point, mate.

LOL.

BTW, do you deny that the Philippines started acquiring metal in the significant International Awards recently under the "guidance" of foreigners.

Don't even talk scams since we all say the Pond's billboards.

Since that is the case what did the older Gen of Pinoy advertisers do? Aside from take cuts from talent agents? And waste S***loads of money? They should all be sent up the river with Trillanes. In fact, they misguided a Generation of young advertisers with their ego-fueled "training". Now they are shafting the industry with station produced adverts.

Oh and don't tell us that Filipinos are not the masters of doublespeak.

You are right kontra tsismax,

we would be nowhere without outside help. happy? And yes, we also have tongues like those of snakes. continue to dig your grave, mate.

Anonymous said... @ December 3, 2007 at 9:21 AM

Why so defensive?

All you have to say is you are right and not even bother to end it with an insult. Typical. The first step to improving is admission of room for improvement. Obviously the people of Tsismax are superior and thus see no need of improving themselves.

Do you deny that people here will smile to your face in public yet backbite at many given opportunities.

Wouldn't it be better if they focus their attention on creating superlative work rather than taking each other down?

Also do we detect a veiled threat, mate? We would've expected more than that from a superior group.

Anonymous said... @ December 3, 2007 at 12:00 PM

suggest you guys stick to the topic.

Anonymous said... @ December 3, 2007 at 12:34 PM

Suggest Tsismax be open to criticism since it dishes out criticism too. Unless Tsismax wants to lose credibility.

BTT: Also it is good Seddon seeks awards and profit. This is a business and profit is a good thing. Even if it means sacrificing deadwood. Which is so prevalent here. Awards are also good for raising an agency profile.

We never said anything negative about matt seddon. we just said heads will roll in saatchi. it is your interpretation but we didn't mean anything negative re that guy.

What do I think of Steve Clay?

More like what do I think of his status in Lowe. Well, the guy is obviously experiencing Filipino Xenophobia at its best. Rumors have it that there is dissent from staff. Why could that be? Dissent caused from an external source? Dissent caused from small-minded characters? The key is to work together with him but some have chosen to work against him. Tsismax is no exception. Because Filipinos are arrogant and fail to see they can learn a thing or two from others. Wonder where the Filipino arrogance comes from? A general feeling of inadequacy?

Anonymous said... @ December 3, 2007 at 3:29 PM

If this general dissent is baseless it will be really unfair to Mr. Clay. Or is it?

Sabihin niyo na lang ang gusto niyong sabihin kaysa mag pa-cute po.

i don't think xenophobia is the issue with clay. the issue is that in the four months he has been with the agency, he did not consult with any of the creatives, much less the senior creatives, about what the department was all about. he wanted to draft a reorg based on who was 'friendly' towards him at the agency. thankfully, management shot that idea down.

the resistance of the people is not because he is foreign but because he doesn't know them and they him. for example, they cannot understand why he would walk out on a client meeting just because his boards didn't get approved.

i would say, he's neither a very good manager, nor leader, based what i've heard and read at clayoawards.blogspot.com

be honest. you have never made fun of someone from India? or from another culture? An African maybe. Or even thought about it in your mind?

secondly, you tell me that you do not know what is happening at Lowe? give me a break. You conveniently look at mistakes in those you choose to. Have you ever looked closer to home? To your industry friends?

Anonymous said... @ March 28, 2008 at 3:26 PM

clay is a very good manager, too bad he has so many "inggit to death" inside his department.

keep it up clayo!

Anonymous said... @ May 30, 2008 at 2:25 PM

I've met the guy. Some of you may not have even seen him. He's great. Honest. No nonsense. Very creative driven.

Please let the guy do his job. It's difficult as it is. Don't make it anymore difficult.

David Nugent is a gay shabu addict and a fraud. He is a 40 year old, college dropout, deeply in debt, to Betty Sy and the BRI, and trhat is only in Philippines. David Scott Nugent or David Cases Nugent should have his Germanic-American ass arrested and thrown in a jail fitting his birthright.

From Businessworld

David Nugent, new business head of Ace Saatchi & Saatchi, resigned, presumably bowing to pressure after a high-ranking official targeted Nugent’s credentials. According to grapevine sources, there was a news blackout after the blog came out. Nugent suddenly stopped going to work.

It's unfair to jugge people that you never know into deep, judging by surface things wouldn't be fair. Imagine if you were on his position, must be difficult and stressful for you. Considering also about the affect of making this topic article towards him. The world is horizontal now, to this forum maker, please be wise to comment or create your personal opinion. You never know what will happen on someone's life after the others written bad of his professional affairs, it will create a bad credit of his future life maybe.
